It was the first time I met the father, Himraj Tamang. On my first visit, I remember Sabina (in the picture) and her younger sister Sajina sleeping on a pile of trash while her mother separated plastic from the dump. This was the notorious Okhalpauwa Dumping Site in Nuwakot. The father was not around at the time. I'd taken a picture, exchanged a few words with the mother and returned. But, in my heart, I knew I would come back again. And so I did._x000D_

_x000D_ Himraj regrets not being able to send her elder daughter Sabina, who is already 5, to school. I noticed he would give her a pencil to hold every time she threw a tantrum. It worked magic. Tamang, now 34, also works at the Okhalpauwa Dumping site collecting recyclable trash along with his wife Kanchi Maiya Tamang who is 28... - Met the family Himraj Tamang, Kanchi Maiya (Ghole) Tamang, Sabina Tamang & Sajina Tamang at the Okhalpauwa Dumping Site, Nuwakot.
