"I want to tell everyone that it is not only the responsibility of a mother to raise a child. The father should also be involved in taking care of the baby. My parents separated when I was really young and my mother took all the responsibilities of parenthood. But it took a toll on her. I just wish that every parents understood the sentiments of their child and not force their will. I wish they get along and not separate. I also wish that every child live a happy childhood where he/she gets love and care from both the parents. And through this race I hope my wishes are granted. She is one of the participant in the RACE for Survival (October 18) – a 5 km marathon inside Kathmandu valley where 1000 students between the ages of 14 – 16 from various public schools will take part to engage children to raise their voice to reduce preventable newborn, infant and child deaths.
