"There was a point in time where I had lost hope. I wanted to become a professional golfer but due to many reasons, I had to give up my dream. And I felt down. I started leading a not-so-healthy lifestyle. My turning point came two years back. I was admitted in a hospital for serious injuries. It was my one chance to get better and get through all the shit. I felt somehow I didn't take care of myself. I was abusing my body. One thing that I really felt bad about was disappointing my sister, more than my parents. She is a mother-figure to me and I look up to her. She had flown down from Africa just to see me and I still remember her saying, 'This is not the end of this life you know. You can do better.' Something changed in me that day and I told myself, 'I'll start over.' " (Spandan Lama Moktan, Bhaisepati, Lalitpur)
