As I was wandering the alleys of Ekatabasti, Kavre I came across a small house where people had gathered to join the ceremony of a young girl who has just left ‘Gufa’. A Newari ritual that rejoices the coming of age for girls. On request, I was happy to take pictures of her with her family and school friends. I sincerely obliged, after all I was an uninvited guest. But before I bid farewell, I asked her if I could take her picture. And thus, a picture became a story.
