Namaste all,

Today I write to you with great joy. We have returned from Shyamsadhu, Ghumthang 7 after installing 50 temporary shelters to the families directly affected by the earthquake.

I feel really happy to see a temporary shelter next to each house that had come down. What was amazing, was to witness the joy of the villagers, and how everyone came together to install 50 frame for the shelters, in just two days. The local youth has been trained to install the shelters and completion is also underway. Someone had mentioned, “We had lost our speech with all these earthquakes, but our voices have come back, now that we have a shelter for the next few months.” The boys of Aashraya-आश्रय and Nepal Army did an amazing job. An amazing experience that lifted our spirits.

We have also provided immediate relief mainly foods and tarps to 5 districts, for over 200 families (Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Ramechaap) immediately after the earthquake struck.

Thank you everyone who donated to the Stories of Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund. Without you support and generous contributions this would not have been possible.

Thank you.
