“My father worked for the rich of the village. He died poor. And I could not go to school. The government didn’t help. The society didn’t help. So I am still poor. And it looks like this is how it will continue for my children. When I was young the men in green uniforms came to my village and talked about change. Told us that no one could oppress us anymore. The government talks about change and I see them drive in shiny cars and live in palaces when people like us go hungry. I struggle everyday, hoping something better will come with the new constitution. But I am losing hope. Can you please make sure my story reaches the prime minister?” (Shiva Shanker Chaulagain.
