“I didn’t get proper treatment for measles when I was small. My hands and legs stopped working. From what little I can remember, mother used to say, ‘I’ll give you rice only if you try to walk, or else it’s dedho’. I loved rice so I would try to move, but fall down many times. Once I fell and had to get 6 stitches in my forehead. Luckily through my teacher I was taken care by a children’s home. Today, I can walk faster than everyone in the street.” (Man Bahadur Magar, Milanchowk, Butwal)
