“Our teacher told us that in Nepal, 3 newborns die every hour. We had no way of knowing this. An hour is just sixty mins. That means 72 deaths in just one day. That is a very scary figure for all of us. She asked us if this was acceptable? And thus, we decided to run the race to raise awareness about this deadly fact.”

Students of Shree Neel Barahi School participated in the RACE for Survival (October 18) – a 5 km marathon inside Kathmandu valley where 1000 students between the ages of 14 – 16 from various public schools will take part to engage children to raise their voice to reduce preventable newborn, infant and child deaths.
