“I am coming from Delhi. I used to drive an auto there. Income stopped after the long lockdown. Whatever I had is also gone now. There is a constant fear of Corona so I thought I would be safe at home. If anything bad was to happen to me, I would prefer to be with my family, with my children. I crossed several villages before I arrived at the border. But my problems actually start here. I have to go to Jhapa and there is no vehicle. The least our government could do was to arrange for us for our transport. Now we all feel abandoned. I only see my home now, it is all over my eyes. When will I reach home? There is no thirst in me, no hunger but only the longing for home. So my journey is still on. There is no option left for me other than to reach home. There are many like me. We have to reach home.”
