“Our ancestors were bird catchers. They did this for a living. Owl, pigeons and quails were the birds they chased. They would sell some and they would eat some. But now there are not many open spaces and the birds do not roam nearby. Maybe that is one reason they slowly stopped relying on catching birds. Although I know how to catch birds, my dreams are different. I do not want to be labelled as a bird catcher. That was not how my parents raised me. They sent me to school instead. And because I am a smart boy, I came first in every exam. The school had no choice but to waive my fees. Now I have completed my 12 grade. But I have to tell you I only study during the night. I ride this Auto during the day. I want to make the most of the time I have. So one day I thought, what if I could start making some good money. I went to the bank and told them that they could trust me with a loan. I knew someone in the bank and they sanctioned me the loan. I pay my instalment every month and soon I will fully own this Auto. I am happy as I am making money. I am taking care of my parents. And I know they are happy because I have my own thing going on. I know they are happy that I don’t catch birds for a living.”
