“This is where I sit and watch tourists. 20 years back there were only few. I remember that the villagers would flock to see them. I still don’t understand why they like our village. Maybe it’s the mountains. And then every year there was an increase in the number. There were more and more tourist coming in. My husband wanted to build a hotel. However, during the war it all stopped. Those were hard times for us. My two sons were taken away. The rebels came in and told me they needed my sons to build a bridge and set up camps to fight against the army. I didn’t see them for almost 3 years. There were rumors of their death. But they returned. Now the war is long over and more tourists are coming in, maybe we can finally build the hotel my husband dreamed of.”
