“The guests that come to my homestay leave with a happy heart. I make sure their needs are met. There is not much in the room but I try and keep it clean. If they ask I give them extra pillows and blankets. I do not want their toes to freeze, you see. I cook too and so does my husband. It is all homegrown – lentils, fresh spinach, and chicken from my neighbor’s poultry. When a group arrives, I get very excited, because I know there will be a fire on the porch and everyone will be eating, drinking and dancing. I and some of my friends sometimes put on our traditional costumes and dance for our guests. When the guests leave I let them pay me what they think is right. Money is not a thing of worry. I just want them to talk about the good time they had in my homestay when they return to their families.”
