As per the village folklore, a monk after painting the Thangka at the monastery in Ghami apparently had his hand cut off so that he could not replicate his masterpiece. The decapitated hand still hangs on the wall of the old palace of the King of Mustang in Ghami along with other artifacts, antique books and statues.
