“Going into the jungle was nothing out of the ordinary for me and my friends. Because we lived in the forests, the presence of animals was an everyday thing. As a kid, I was curious as to why all the tourists came. To see them bewildered at the sighting of the elephants or tigers, to see them unable to control their excitement always amused me. The expressions I would see in their face, the wonder in their eyes ultimately made me chose this occupation. And because Father is a naturalist, it made things easier. Recently, I got promoted to the position of a guide. I take the guests to safari answer their questions on wildlife. I have waited for quite some time to do this. I love telling them the names of the different species of birds and animals in the forests. And today, I understand why the tourists come. They come to reconnect with nature, they come to discover the vastness of forests. And in doing so they forget their worries and find happiness. And in their happiness, I also find my purpose”
