“They found me in a forest. I do not know why my parents abandoned me. And I do not know the conditions I was found in. Maybe they had come to forest with their animals or to collect firewood, when they found me. When I sit to think, there are many stories that I can think of. Maybe I was not a legitimate child. Maybe they could not bear the burden of another child. But those imaginations are unknown. I was raised by a couple who found me. They became my mother and father. Today, I wonder of my birth parents. But I have lived a worthy life, of hard work and for family. And I am not going to abandon my children. Watching my wife support me and my children grow, today, I feel my birth was not a mistake.” (Nima Cheten Sherpa, Amjilesha, Taplejung)
