“I come from a fishing community. Almost everyone in a fisherman. A few my age live today, but I am the only one who still goes fishing. This is what I did all my life. This is all I know and this is how I have raised a family. I never went to school and I have never seen the outside world. I know the river, the boat, my family and the fishes. Today my bones have become rusty and I am not so flexible. But I still go. My children tell me to stay at home. The villagers tell me that I am old and that if I continue, then one day the river will take me along with the fishes. I sometimes wish it came true.” ( Majhi Ba, Gaikhura, Ramechaap)
