“I am able to withdraw Rs.12000 from my provident fund every month as I served in the Nepal Bank for over 20 years before I took voluntary retirement. But as I sit her and watch old people, I feel I am one of the lucky ones because those with no savings have to rely on the government allowance, which is nothing compared to the expenses of the city. Old age also brings health issues, and I have seen many old people die with illnesses that can be treated, because they don’t have any financial support.”
