“I am always trying to learn from the ladies in the house. You see women are the centre of the family, the blood vein that help keep all the men alive. And just because my daughters are young, does not mean I cannot learn from them. As they become adults they are also learning about this world. I do not force my will on them. I tell them about the different options they have and give them the freedom to make their own decisions. I also tell them that they will have to be ready to face the consequences of their decision and actions. Recently, my second daughter wanted to come home for Dashain and it was already too late to get on a bus from Kathmandu. When she insisted, I let her be. So she found out it was not easy travelling alone when the roads are bad and the journey long. I make mistakes too which my daughters point out and I try to rectify them. So we all are learning from each other. I am learning more from them, than they are from me.”
